Privacy Policy

MOONTIDE is a one-touch arcade game for iPhone and iPad. We built it to be played, not to collect data. Starting with version 1.2 the game shows ads, so this policy now explains exactly what that involves.

What we collect

We, the developer, collect nothing. MOONTIDE has no accounts and no analytics, and the app never sends your data to us.

Ads

MOONTIDE shows ads through Google AdMob: optional ads you can choose to watch (to revive, or to double the pearls from a run), and an occasional ad between runs. To deliver ads, limit how often you see the same one, and prevent fraud, Google's advertising SDK collects some data directly from your device:

• a device identifier and your IP address (which indicates your general region),
• how you interact with ads (views and taps),
• diagnostic data such as crash and performance information from the ad software.

What we chose to keep this small:

• Non-personalized ads only. The app asks Google for ads that are not based on your interests or past activity.
• No tracking. MOONTIDE never asks for permission to track you across other apps and websites, and does not access your device's advertising identifier.
• Family-friendly ads. Ads are limited to general-audience content ratings.

This data goes to Google, not to us, and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Europe and the UK. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent choices before showing ads. You can change them any time under Settings, Privacy Choices.

Removing ads. Any pearl pack, or the Remove Ads purchase, permanently turns off the ads between runs. The ads you choose to watch always stay optional.

What stays on your device

Your game progress (scores, pearls, unlocked cosmetics, settings) is stored locally on your device. If you are signed into iCloud, a copy of your save is mirrored to your personal iCloud key-value storage so your progress survives deleting the app. That data lives in your Apple account; we cannot access it.

Apple services

MOONTIDE also optionally uses two Apple services, both governed by Apple's Privacy Policy:

• Game Center. If you sign in, Apple handles leaderboards and achievements. Your Game Center nickname and scores are managed by Apple under your Apple Account settings.
• In-App Purchases. Pearl packs and Remove Ads are processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment information.

Both are optional. The game is fully playable without them.

Children

MOONTIDE is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We collect no data from anyone, including children. Ads are non-personalized and limited to general-audience content.

Changes

If a future update ever changes what the app does with data, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before that update ships.
